To study abroad - What to do?

Students from the second term can take the opportunity to join the Erasmus+ Programme.

From the idea to the performance

How can you receive more information?

  • To arrange a meeting with the Head of the Office for International Affairs
  • To decide in which country would you like to complete your studies
  • To get more information by talking with the current incoming students or the students from  the UCTE who already completed their Erasmus+ studies, CEEPUS studies or studies as part of the KA107-project.
  • To visit the Erasmus+ Information Day, organized by the Office for International Affairs

Which steps do you have to take?

  • To register in the Office for International Affairs
  • To fill in the application form
  • The provisional nomination as an Erasmus+ student, CEEPUS student or student as part of the KA107-project follows.
  • Requirement for the Erasmus+ studies, CEEPUS studies or studies as part of the KA107-project is completion of exams till that point when you have to submit the application form.
  • The contact with the institution of your choice goes through the Office for International Affairs
  • If the Erasmus+ student, CEEPUS student or student as part of the KA107-project is accepted at the partner institution with regards to the number of free places, the "Learning Agreement" will be prepared.
  • The "Learning Agreement" (determination of lessons which the student has to complete abroad) will be finalized and signed. This contract will be then signed from the Vice Rector and from the responsible person at the partner institution.
  • The search for the suitable accommodation is carried out with the support of the partner institution. Your own search for the accommodation is of course possible and recommended.
  • The registration by OeAD – Austrian Exchange Service - and the nomination as an Erasmus+ student, CEEPUS student or student as part of the KA107-project goes through the Office for International Affairs.
  • Individual language preparation is possible as well as the preparation within the language course at the partner institution. The Office for International Affairs offers (if necessary) also the language courses.
  • The verification of language competences from future "Outgoing students" goes through the Austrian National Agency. The nominated students receive all needed information from the Office for International Affairs in time.

Which documents do you need to fill in?

When you decide to study at one of the many partner institutions of the UCTE and you want to register for the Erasmus+ studies, CEEPUS studies or studies as part of the KA107-project, first of all you should fill in the application form and bring it to the Office for International Affairs.

What will be recognized? Recognition of credits

To study abroad has the same value as to study at the UCTE. That means, one or two terms abroad will have no disadvantages for the studies at the UCTE. In this situation the students can only win and gain international competences. The partner institution offers corresponding or similar courses like at the UCTE which the students have to attend. Altogether they can enroll 30 EC for their first-degree study abroad. At the end of the stay at the partner institution the student receives the "Transcript of Records" which proves the credits which student fulfills.

Information about the transfer you can find here.

Attention! Changes in the "Learning agreement" have to be done within one month and they have to be sent to the home institution.
