Take YOUR chance! YOU are welcome!
Allow me to welcome you to the staff mobility homepage. Here you can find some essential information about the Pädagogische Hochschule Kärnten / Viktor Frankl Hochschule (University College of Teacher Education) situated in Klagenfurt, Carinthia (Austria).
The University College of Teacher Education offers three kinds of studies from the field of education. Our students can specialize to become teachers for
- primary schools (to be phased out after 2015/16)
- secondary schools (to be phased out after 2015/16)
- special education (to be phased out after 2015/16)
Here you can find the new teacher education programmes concerning primary education and secondary education (valid from the beginning of the academic year 2015/16).
The University College of Teacher Education is based on Viktor Frankl's Logotherapy "Man's Search Meaning". We implement his ideas in our teaching. The main focus of all our work is the human being with all her/his needs covering the physical, psychological, spiritual and social dimensions.
The emphasis of our University College of Teacher Education focuses on acquiring theoretical knowledge based on the latest research concerning education and pedagogy. The school-practice is heart of education and teacher training at our institution. Two schools - one primary and one secondary school - are important parts of our University College of Teacher Education. The primary school hosting students for their school practice is located in Viktring which is a part of Klagenfurt. One of the secondary schools where students can obtain their school practice is located at the University College of Teacher Education. Another secondary school is located in the countryside in St. Jakob / Rosental.
In addition, students can also make their practical training abroad. The Office for International Affairs encourages students to enhance their teaching competence also abroad. Here are some Study Offers.
