As a university in a bilingual region, the University of Teacher Education Carinthia - Viktor Frankl University sees itself as an internationally oriented educational institution. It provides research and teaching (Education, Training and continuing education of teachers) in the field of education and qualifies people in educational professions - not only for the regional, but also for the national and international job market. The University of Teacher Education Carinthia is responsible for the entire professionalization continuum of pedagogues (education, training and continuing education of teachers for all school types on an academic level).
Education today is inconceivable without the models of internationality and diversity, because education encompasses the interest in and recognition of diversity and various ways of life in the common world society; it is closely related to internationality. The aim of the University of Teacher Education Carinthia is to make this internationality tangible in education and training for pedagogues, in professional research and in administration.
The internationalization strategy of the PHK is based on the motte: "We live linguistic and cultural diversity / We cooperate and network regionally and internationally". The Participation in the Erasmus + program makes it possible to live this principle. The University of Teacher Education Carinthia - Viktor Frankl University promotes and supports the implementation of mobility for students, teaching and administrative staff as well as international cooperation, project and research activities. The Cooperation between European and non-European higher education institutions is maintained on a regular basis. Students can study abroad, do practical school studies and internships and PHK Staff is invited to gain or expand intercultural knowledge and experience using mobility for teaching or training. Besides, the internationalisation@PHK is enriched by the regular presence of Incoming Students as well as Incoming Staff.
